Every morning while dressing my cute kiddo Kelsea or her watching me and my hubby dress up for work, she suddenly keeps quiet and then say, "Mommy/Daddy, taho!". She's always the one who can hear the Mamang magtataho :) This is one of her favorite breakfast food (combo with her milk and sometimes Skyflakes) before taking a heavy meal in the office.
What is TAHO? According to Wikipedia, Taho is a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft or silken tofu, arnibal (brown sugar and vanilla syprup) -- yumyum!, and pearl sago (similar to pearl tapioca). This signature sweet comfort food can be found all over the country.
Every kid must have taste taho once in his/her lifetime. Our family loves taho. As kids, we were raised eating Taho. You can often see a "magtataho" on the streets carrying 2 aluminum buckets of different sizes (I bet their bodies ache at the end of the day). One bucket has the tofu while the other one has the arnibal and sago. They have 2 available cups priced at 5 pesos and 10 pesos or you can also make use of your own cup. One of the magtataho in our village is not the traditional one when it comes to carrying his goods. He goes around the streets using a pedicab with umbrella :) I still have to take a picture of him.
Many say that it's healthy (being made from tofu) but some say it's not (made from Plaster of Paris). Well, I think the all-time favorite Taho is here to stay :)

Love You Forever
Who do you love forever? What does it mean to love someone forever? It means loving someone unconditionally. No buts or ifs. That's why it doesn't end. It's forever.
I was looking for a good book to read to my daughter Kelsea and found from The Book Depository a book entitled Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. I heard from co-n@wies that this one's an all-time favorite. A nice book to read to your kids before going to sleep. I couldn't find it in National Book Store or in Powerbooks. If you're lucky, you'll find it in Booksale.
From the point of view of a mother who loves her son from the day he was born until he grew-up and be a man, this is very touching. Although she dislikes her son's actions and new interests as years passed by, she makes it a point every night when she's sure her son is asleep to sing a song to him:
The mother grew old and when she was very sick, it was her son's turn to sing that lovely song to his mom, changing the "baby" to "mommy". Her son must have familiarize the song her mother sings to him. And surprisingly at the end of the story, the son who is now a grown-up man, sings the song to his baby daughter. Isn't it touching?
Now that I have this book, I always read it to Kelsea and sing the song to her. And I'm glad she loves to hear the story and the song. She even sings it with me :) What I love about more about this book is it's simplicity. It teaches us to love unconditionally and pass on to our love ones the special love and care given to us.
You can listen to the story of Love You Forever here.
By the way, I bought the book in paperback for only $5.53. That's less than Php250! And free shipping :) Check out The Book Depository and you might find a book you've been looking for and have it delivered to your doorstep for free.

As long as I'm living
My baby you'll be.
